The benefits of coconut oil are all over the internet.  It's a good addition to homemade skin care as well as homemade healthy goodies.  I wanted to find a way to make it easier to get raw coconut oil in my families diets, daily.  After doing some searching on Pinterest, I came across a great recipe on Whole Natural Life.  I really liked the sound of the recipe, but I wanted to add essential oils to the mix to make it even better.

  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • zest from 1 medium lemon
  • juice from 1 medium lemon
  • 2 TBSP raw honey (more/less according to your sweet tooth)
  • 3-5 drops wild orange or tangerine essential oil

  • Place all ingredients into a food processor and blend until all ingredients are evenly mixed.
  • Spoon finished mixture into small candy molds - you want a mold that will hold somewhere between 1 teaspoon and 1 tablespoon per chew.
  • Place mold in refrigerator until solidified.
  • Remove from molds and store in refrigerator.
I made mini chews for my littles and 2-bite chews for myself.  My kids really like taking their coconut oil this way and so do I.  I hope you enjoy them too!

If you're not use to eating coconut oil raw, go slowly with 1 or 2 of these at one time.  Coconut oil can cause intestinal upset for some.
