In Oregon our HOT summer weather usually consists of a couple of weeks in August.  This year has been quite different.  The summer heat started early and it seems to be never ending.  

It's great... except our Oregon bodies are not accustomed to all this sun and heat.  So after a particularly long day in the sun, I was thankful to be able to make a soothing spray and salve.  Although I hope you don't get burnt by the sun ...

If you do happen to get "crispy" skin when you're out in the sun you can easily whip up a batch of this soothing spray for those untouchable burns.  


  • 8-ounce glass spray bottle
  • 1/4 cup aloe vera juice
  • 1/4 cup aloe vera gel
  • 4 TB fractionated coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vitamin e
  • 10 drops lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 10 drops frankincense essential oil


  • Combine ingredients in glass spray bottle
  • Shake before use to incorporate ingredients
  • Spray onto skin as needed
  • Keep refrigerated.
